Youth Council

The Youth Council represents young people from all areas within North Belfast. Recruitment is selected from local youth providers in all 5 Zones of North Belfast. Representation is also open to those who choose not to avail of any youth provision but are in contact with NBAP Detached Youth Workers. Membership is limited to 20 spaces.


The Youth Councils primary remits are to highlight issues for young people in by local consultation providing the collective voice of young people, and to host a 3 day Youth Conference annually for up to 70 participants.



Successes of the youth forum to date have been:





  • Youth Council Report - The development of a comprehensive report on young peoples issues within North Belfast













  • ABC – A groupwork manual for Youth workers to use with young people around the issue of Bullying














  • Peer  to Peer – A 10 week course helping young people become a good friend by understanding the issues of Suicide, Self Harm, Addictions, Bullying and how to listen effectively.














  • BeeSafe – An interactive App for young people around keeping safe and providing information on support services. This App will be available on both Apple and Android IOS platforms by Christmas 2014.
